Destination Wedding in Kerala

Climate

The three main seasons that influence Kerala are summer, monsoon, and winter. Located along the southwestern coast of India and flanked by the Western Ghats, Kerala experiences a tropical climate with high humidity throughout the year. The state is known for its abundant rainfall, especially during the monsoon season, which begins in June and lasts till September. Summers are warm and humid, while winters—from December to February—are relatively cooler and pleasant, making it an ideal time for travel and outdoor events. Despite the heat in some months, Kerala generally enjoys a balanced and lush climate year-round due to its unique geography.

Wedding Months

As Kerala has a tropical climate, the weather remains warm and sunny for most of the year. However, we recommend avoiding the monsoon season—June to August—for weddings, as heavy rainfall can disrupt celebrations. The ideal wedding season in Kerala typically begins from mid-October and continues until April. The most preferred months are November to February, when the weather is pleasant, the skies are clear, and the natural beauty of Kerala is at its peak.

Budget

A luxury 2-night destination wedding with 100 rooms in Kerala will cost you around ₹1 to ₹1.5 Cr INR if you opt for a premium 5-star resort. For an entry-level 5-star property, the cost typically ranges between ₹70 to ₹80 Lakhs. This estimate is all-inclusive, covering accommodation, events, and decorations. Kerala offers a wide range of wedding venues—from boutique 3-star resorts to high-end luxury properties nestled amidst beaches, backwaters, and lush greenery—making it a versatile and picturesque wedding destination.

Area

Kerala is located along the southwestern Malabar Coast of India, bordered by the Arabian Sea on the west and the Western Ghats on the east. The state features a diverse topography that includes serene backwaters, lush plains, rolling hills, and dense tropical forests. The coastal region is lined with palm-fringed beaches, while the eastern highlands are dotted with tea plantations and misty hill stations like Munnar and Wayanad. Numerous mountain passes in the Western Ghats connect Kerala to neighboring states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, making it both scenic and well-connected.
